Thinking about buying a DTXpress...

Thinking about buying a DTXpress...

2001-11-12 by spacepiperwsm@yahoo.com

Hey there. Im a new drummer, and i play bagpipes and guitar in a
celtic band. We really want to add drums to it, so natually for the
sake of our ears, and our usually background music gigs, we were
thinking about some electric drums. I was just wondering, if you
bought it from www.musiciansfriend.com or some place like that, is
there anything else i need to buy? Also, can you plug it into an amp
using the standard cords used for electric guitars? Any comments
would be much appreciated. -Will-

Hi Will,
I think that the DTXpress would work well for your band due to the volume
control and ability to customize drum sounds. In addition to the kit, all
you need to buy is a bass pedal and sticks.

It does plug into an amp in mono or stereo using standard guitar cords.
Consensus seems to be that a keyboard or the Roland amp designed for drums
work best due to their ability to produce both the highs and lows needed for
realistic sound. I use a Fender KXR 100 and am very happy with it. You can
run other instruments or mics into it as well due to separate volume
controls.

Have fun,
Rick
