Cross-fade triangle

Cross-fade triangle

2015-06-19 by Stephen Scott

Hi,

Another newbie question. Does anyone know how to use the X-fade triangle voice on the DTXpress ii ? I've been playing around with it for a while with no success. I presume that I need to have the same sound on both layers. Can't find anything about it in the manuals, nor online, so any help appreciated,

Thanks,

Stephen

Hi again,

It is a while since I set up a crossfade and cannot check at the moment. It probably doesn't work like you think. Try two totally different sounds and compare gentle and hard hits to find out the effect.

Hi,

Thanks, I think I've just worked this out; same sound in both layers, soft hit gives a muted triangle, harder hit gives a open triangle. Changing the X-fade envelope shape seems to change the level of hit needed to play the 2nd layer, and also changes the amount of soid in each layer.

I've now also set up a x-fade cymbal so that a soft hit gives a ride sound, a harder hit gives a cup sound.

I'm loving this kit!

Thanks for your help Keith.
