Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Can anyone please tell me how to mute the dtxpress instuments when 
useing ext. sequencer? I cant figure it out. I want to use my dtx 
drum sounds and my ext. sequencer sounds together.  Any help may 
save my sanity!!!

I am a little uncertain what you mean...But you should be able to 
mute the DTXpress via the sequencer.  What sequencer is it, and how 
have you got the DTXpress rigged up to it?

I am useing the Yamaha QY70. I am useing the MIDI in/out, and 
sending the QY70 into the DTXpress aux. with the appropriate 1/8 
jack. What I want to do is record using only the QY70 melodic 
instuments while using the DTXpress' drum sound. Is this possible? 
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! The manual only exceeds in 
giving me a huge headache!

P.S. I am doing the monitoring from the DTXpress.

I don't know if it the best way to do what you want, but you should edit a
new song and put the volume of all channels  to 0 except the channel 10.
Then link the QY70 midi output with the midi input of the DTXpress brain.
Link the QY70 line output to the aux line input of the DTXpress brain or
link the DTXpress phone output to a line input of the QY70.
Another solution would be to put the volume of the channel 10 of the QY70 to
0(or to mute the channel 10) and to send to the DTXpress brain only the midi
data through the channel 10.
Does it work?
