at my gig last night, the kick trigger proved to be malfunctioning; not nearly every hit was triggered / so no sound was audible. anybody else experience that?? what can i do? jef, ct USA

I've said it before and I'm sayin' it again.  Buy a
vertikick.  Pintech makes them, if you look in past
articles in this group you'll see it listed numerous
times.  Most people in the owners' group will agree
it's your best option.  I've been told that if you
replace the resistors in the kick or remove the pots
and wire it directly that could cure the problem, not
everyone has the tecnical know-how to do that though
and I've never tired it so I can't verify that it
works.  So I wouldn't recommend that.  I personally
think that the kick that comes with the dtxpress is
too inconsistant, you need a better kick if you're
playin' gigs with this thing.  If you don't like the
vertikick Roland makes some very nice ones that are
rubber pads (not with a mesh head) and are not too
expensive.  I hope this helps.   -Joe
