Hi, Can anyone recommend a reasonable mesh head snare pad that is compatible with the DTXpress? I had been thinking about the Pintech AX14S but there are currently distribution problems with Pintech gear in the UK. Does anyone use the Roland PD120? - if so any feedback on these or other options would be very welcome. Cheers, Pete.

Any mesh head snare should work with the DTXPU module, provided that you use either input 9 or 10 for the rim trigger. Too bad Pintech is hard to get in the UK. The Pintech 10" ConcertCast 102ST is a nice complement to the DTXexpress rack and module, and the AX14S is big, attractive, and worth the extra expense and effort to integrate it into the Yamaha context. You should also take a look at the Hart options. I've never used the Roland; to me it seems far too overpriced, and overenhanced, for use in a budget electronic kit. --- In DTXpress@yahoogroups.com, "blunsdonp <blunsdonp@l...>" <blunsdonp@l...> wrote: > Hi, > > Can anyone recommend a reasonable mesh head snare pad that is > compatible with the DTXpress? I, too, can give the ConcertCast102ST a big thumbs up. This is what I've been using for snare. It works very well. However, I just ordered an AX14S. I thought I needed a larger target:Q ...I guess I'll use the 102 for a side snare. By the way, I mounted my 102 on a snare stand. It took some of the pressure off the rack.Much more stable!! --- In DTXpress@yahoogroups.com, "liberatusvirus <liberatusvirus@y...>" <liberatusvirus@y...> wrote:

Pete I had the same problem and ended up buying a Yamaha Real Head trigger (the one that comes with DTXTREME). I put a Hart Dynamics mesh head on it and I love it. The rim trigger on the Roland PD120 mesh head unit does not generate a big enough signal for the DTXpress and the mesh head is very bouncy. You will need to use 2 inputs for the RHP as the rim trigger is a piezo. I use input 2(snare) for the pad and input 9 for the rim. With a splitter you can then use your old snare pad on input 10 as another tom or a cow bell or ...... Cheers Warren
