9/10 port problem

9/10 port problem

2002-12-21 by pinachee <stepar@attbi.com>

I too am having a problem getting two trigger sounds out of my 9/10
port. I have read many posts below and am still having a problem. I
have a DTXpress kit. I changed the MIDI note under the voice module,
so 10 is different than 9. I am using a stereo splitter. I changed
my "reject" and "spclreject" from 3 to 4. I've changed the voice on
10 to be a tom. Nothing I have tried has worked. I still get the
same sound out of my 10 trigger (additional tom) as I'm getting out of
my 9 trigger (cymbol). They both are making a cymbol sound. I'm
feeling helpless. I'd appreciate any help or advise.

The problem might be that the splitter is sending the same signal
along both sides of the "Y." First, make sure that you're using a
TRS splitter--that is, one that divides a stereo signal separately
into tip and ring feeds inot the 9/10 input. Some stereo splitters
sends a uniform signal along both branches. If it ain't that, the
splitter may be defective.

I wrote my first reply very fast and it came out bass ackward. What
I meant to say was that the divided signal through the "Y" might be
getting reunited at the input in such a way as to allow only a mono
feed. A TRS splitter would ensure that the signals get divided
properly into two mono feeds corresponding to inputs 9 and 10. Okay,
that was fast, but I think better.
