If the module is in "Learn Mode", all you have to do is hit the rim trigger. You don't have it plugged into trigger 9/10, do you? ____________________________ Jim

I don't wanna loose my settings for my personal acoustic kit, I've lost them 3 times now, and it's a pain resetting the voices for all the pads, and remembering which setting I had them on, any help for all my dumb questions will be appreciated!

I'm not sure what the problem is, but from what I remember, "learn mode" is the default setting. But even if it isn't, you can get to input 7, and then rim 7, by toggling input numbers in the voice menu. If you're having trouble bringing up the rim of a cymbal in the menu by hitting it while in learn mode, it might be because hitting the rim often activates the cymbal's main piezo trigger and leaves you there. After making sure that you're in learn mode, try striking the rim of pad 7 gently in a number of places until the voice menu reads "rim 7." Then you should be able to progam it. Also, if you save your user settings, you shouldn't lose them unless you make a permanent change. Make sure that after you create each of your new settings, you press "save" until the process is "complete." He says he's lost his settings three times. That don't sound right for a user kit. ____________________________ Jim

Are you trying to edit a default kit, or a user kit? A user kit is one that you create and save in kit numbers 49 through 79. A default kit is any kit from 1 to 48. YOU CAN'T SAVE SETTINGS TO A DEFAULT KIT. If the kit you are trying to edit is a default kit, do this. 1. Hit the SAVE button. The display will now read... Store Drumkit To = 49 Init Kit (or whatever you've named it) 2. Use the VALUE (UP) button to scroll to a kit number from 49 - 79 that is not in use (They'll say INIT KIT if you haven't changed any names.) 3. Once you've picked a number to save it in, keep hitting the SAVE button until the display goes back to normal. If you have a manual for the DTXpress, I highly recommend that you read the sections on assigning voices, editing user kits, changing kit names, utility mode, etc... The manual is easy to follow and if you keep it next to your kit, it's a handy reference. If you don't have a manual, you can download them here...
