Driving the DTXpress tone generator w/ external MIDI data

Driving the DTXpress tone generator w/ external MIDI data

2003-02-22 by hoopertoones <kenlow@vnet.net>

Hi,

I'm trying to get set up to have the DTXpress tone generator driven
by MIDI sequence data transmitted from the MIDI sequencer (Sonar) on
my PC. So far, I have the DTXpress MIDI In&Out connected to my PC
via a Midisport 1x1 interface and have a kit on the DTXpress set up
on Channel 10. I've got a pre-recorded drum MIDI sequence in Sonar
set up to output on channel 10 to the Midisport 1x1.

But it's not working. Obviously, there's more to it? ~smile~

Probably more here than anybody will want to try and tackle with one
answer but if someone(s) can help get me started on the right path
I'll experiment and come back with follow-up questions.

Thanks for any help,

Hooper

Is anybody able to take recorded drum MIDI tracks on your PC and play
them back through the DTXpress module?

I've done that. I've also played drum sounds on the DTXpressII w/my
external MIDI keyboard and with a BOSS MPD4.
