2003-03-11 by peterpan

hey everyone haven't posted for quite a while,

as some of u know i got the an old dtxpress, i'm currently lookin into
buyin a new kick pedal to replace the KPwhatever it is that i got with
the kit all those light years ago. lookin into gettin one of those
pedals which hits face down, rather than straight ahead like a
standard pedal (like inverse, i think its called)

anyways just hopin that perhaps somebody may have a hint or 2 to give
me before i buy. perhaps on whats a good pedal 2 look at, i'm lookin
at the cheaper scale of things - primarily 4 practicin. oh and i'm
based in london 2 if anybody knows of a good shop in the UK.

if anybody has any ideas whatesoever plz let us know, gonna buy this
week hopefully - if i find somwthin i like!

cheers,

Out of 594 members, only a handful post regularly. Who knows how many
of the 594 don't receive the emails or check the site.

Be patient.

Other than that, there is an enormous amount of archived posts on the
site. Did you do a search on them? I can't believe it hasn't been
discussed before today.

Jim:
I think the reason you may not be getting many responses is that, as
you know, the DTX has an upright bass pad, and as members upgrade
their kits, most go with some sort of upright mesh head pad as I did.
However, I can tell you that I have a Pintech bass trigger that I use
as a second kick and to use as a spare.
It works OK as a spare or second kick, but I wouldn't rely on it as
my main kick because it doesn't seem to have the dynamics of my mesh
head pad. Maybe I'm spoiled.
It is cheap, though. I think I paid about $34.00 for it (with a
beater).

kp65 - bargain or bad buy?

2003-03-17 by peterpan

cheers 4 the advice guys, think i'm gonna go for the yamaha kp65 -
seems to be gettin good reviews and looks a bargain at 50 quid.
another couple of questions before i buy, some of u guys should
already have the pedal (coming as standard with the dtxpress II).

1) what do u think of the pedal?
2) how stable is it (does it move a bit like the kp60)
3) whoever uses uses double base, how good is the kp65 4 this
4) any reccomended double bass pedals to use with the kp65? am lookin
into gettin a new one soonish

thanks again for your help and advice, its much appresciated

Hey Peterpan! I currently use an Iron Cobra double bass pedal but
at first I was scared it wasn't going to fit that black base that
extends out from the front of the KP65, but it fits! The kit
responds find to all double bass speeds, even the really really fast
ones!
