Well, I think I know what you're asking. So yes would be the
answer. I can actually mute the MIDI tracks in pro tools
controlling the Korg sound module, and the DTXpress will stop
playing on those tracks too. Then it just plays on channel 10. So
somehow when Protools is outputting midi signal to channels 1,2, and
10, the DTXpress is under the impression that it's supposed to play
on 1 and 2. Now, I can actually turn on channel 10 on the korg, and
it'll play with the DTXpress, but I ofcourse shut that off quite
easily. so I figure that the DTXpress is allowing channels 1 and 2
to receive signal, and in turn it plays sounds based on the song
that's linked to the kit I select. I can change to different songs,
and the sounds it plays on those channels changes.
I absolutly LOVE the digi001. I've got a monster PC computer (and I
use an athlon xp processor), and I've got two monitors tied in. I
can have the mix window on one monitor and the edit window on the
other, and I don't ever have to switch between. That was the best
thing I've done yet. Protools is the greatest too, although it's
MIDI capabilities are limited. It's analog stuff is the bomb! the
only thing is that I wish plug-ins were just a little cheaper.
