anyone using the dtxpress module with a drumkat controller???

hey guys,
long time since i posted on here, been busy as hell. nice
to see alot of action on here though (this is still one of the best
places on the net in my opinion) i just bought up a drum kat about 2
weeks ago for my recording kit,and man i love the thing. there's so
much that it can do,and basically every feature on the dtxpress
works great with the drumkat( and the pads work just as well plugged
into the drumkat as they do directly into the dtxpress module) ..
layering voices is great on here, and although you can only layer 2
voices with the dtxpress the drumkat lets you layer 3 voices on each
pad (even the external input ones),and have to control on each one..
plus with having 9 inputs on the back of the drumkat offers the
ability to have a 19 peice monster e-drum kit even in a pretty space
limited area.. it's a great tool for recording, and i have been
giving it a work-out on my new roland vs-1880 (love this thing as
well) just figured i'd see if anyone else has used the drumkat with
the dtxpress module, and had anything to say about there experience
with doing so, also this may be a nice option for users wanting that
bigger e-drum kit,but not wanting to devour a rooms worth of space
to have one... i have also just recently bought a hart multi-pad 6
that i'm gonna be putting into the configuration soon, but you can
see pics of my current recording kit configuration by checking out
my pics(otacon28's pics) in the photos section (there the last few
pics that i just added)

rock on guys,
               sam(otacon28)

Hi Sam,

I've been using the Kat MidiKITI for sometime, and it meets my needs
for more inputs perfectly at this point. It also has advanced
stacking features (3 voices layed, 4 alternating, and a wealth of
interesting velocity curves, which I have yet to use to full
advantage). I've dealt a little with Alternate Mode. It's in my home
state of Mass., and seems to be run by a small number of pleasant
people.

yeah,
a friend of mine has the midikiti ,and also really likes the
usefulness of it as well.. i found a video for the drumkat on
ebay.and scooped it up as well, man it covers so much stuff on
it,and is really easy to sit down with the drumkat, and dive into
some of the advanced stuff fairly easily with the video. i didn't
end up getting a manual with the kat,but the video more than makes
up for not having one right off the bat, i will be on the look out
for the manual though... i really like the fact that you can play
the drumkat pads without sticks too, this is cool for starting and
stopping sequencing stuff, and loops (basically like the pad assign
feature on the dtxpress) it was definately a great investment
though.. i don't know why i haven't got one a while ago..

later,

The manuals seem to be online in PDF form here:

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
