Another New Owner

Another New Owner

2000-09-14 by Bill

Hi Guys-
Great source for tips and tricks on the dtxpress. Have had mine
about 3 months and use it every day without annoying anyone (except
for me with my poor skills). I initially created a few new kits with
different snare sounds and volume, etc. adjustments. Unfortunately,
I am not like the majority of other users - my technical skills stink
when it comes to 100% understanding of all these functions and MIDI.

I recall reading a post or two saying I can get two different sounds
from the same pad. Does that mean I can get a rim shot on the snare
while retaining the snare sound? Since these are single trigger pads
I can't understand how that's possible. Also, can I buy a Yamaha
dual trigger pad and just plug it in my snare jack and then get the
two sounds? Last, I want to clamp a cowbell and wood block to the
rack. What hardware alternatives are there that fit and look like
they belong there?

Sorry for rehashing some beginner topics.

Bill,

That is exactly what I was looking for. Have you used this? If so does it work well on the 9/10 input on the DTXpress brain?

Thanks for the info.

Scott

Try www.edrums.com
This is the Pintech web site and I'm sure they do a T-bar trigger unit.
Yamaha must sell one to because they mention it in the manuals when talking
about inputs 9/10 and increase/decrease kit numbers options.

Hope that helps.

RE: [DTXpress] Re: Another New Owner

2000-11-22 by Boehmer, Scott A. (PSI Net)

Thanks for the information. Bill helped me out with Musicians Friend online. They actually have the Yamaha T-Bar, it looks similar to the Pintech cymbal bars but has dual triggers. I wonder how much hardware comes with it? Or how would it mount to the RS80 Rack?

If any one has one let me know.

Thanks,

Scott

Re: Another New Owner

Scott-
Sorry I'm late catching up with your messages. No, I haven't used
the TBar but I understand it is good for sounds like cowbell or
woodblock or sticks. It also functions as an inc/dec pad to change
kits, etc.
As for the clamp to attach to the rack, I have a Yamaha catalog which
shows DTX components. For the BP80 it says, "Dual trigger electronic
bar pad, compact tubular design, includes one stereo cable and arm
for RS80 attachment". So, I believe it should have everything you
need.

Let us know how it works out.
