Yikes! Ok, I just *asked* for the info a day ago, since I *don't* have it
(never did!). I was hoping *someone* had it all in one place so I could
format/post it (I do that pretty easy/quick).

So.. the request goes out again, if someone has a synopsis of all the
super-good, useful advice we have given to new owners over the last few
months on this list, please send to me for posting! :)

Just Picked Up by new DTxpressII

2003-09-17 by bmwbikerdave

Thanks to this group, I decided to go with the Yamaha kit and I just
picked it up. Too bad Vern doesn't have the Newbie info ready as I
could sure use it.

In addition, I know I need to get a pad for the Kick and was
wondering whether the Gibraltar pad (round and looks like plastic)
would be any good or maybe a rubber tire patch. I'd be interested to
hear what others think.

Now off to the house to set it up.

Many years ago I used to use a Dr. Scholls moleskin patch on my acoustic
base. It never wore out and never fell off.- might be cheaper than an actual
"drum" product.

I tried electrical tape for a while, but it doesn't stick to well to
the pad. So I went for the Evans Double Bass Drum Patch. Works
well, looks good, and at 2 for about $6 isn't too bad. They are
nylon, and fit the pad perfectly...
