Hi Antti,
You can't set a separate gain for different layers; gain applies to
the trigger as a whole. Layering has a balance parameter in the voice
menu.

Someone else may have a tip about the PCY65 cymbals, but the area of
PCY80S near where a bell would be located allowed a crossfade to a
bell sound to occur with almost no change in velocity because the
level increased naturally near the top by virtue of the piezo's
location. The new Yamaha cymbals may not behave the same way.

If I remember correctly, a voice that is already comprised of two
layers (the ones in the manual with a bullet beside them) are
incapable of additional stacking, thereby disabling the layering
function.
