MIDI Control: timing clock

MIDI Control: timing clock

2003-09-23 by anttipi

Hi!

In the reference manual's "MIDI Control" section it says the DTXpress
II can only TRANSMIT timing clock messages. But at the back of the
same manual there is a MIDI Implementation Chart which suggests that
System Real-Time clock messages are both transmitted AND recognized
(both columns are marked with an "o" meaning "yes"). Unless I am
mistaken here "recognized" means the same as "received"?

Which one to believe, the "MIDI control" section or the
Implementation Chart?

Best way is to try it yourself, don't u think? ;-)
Get a sequencer to be master, then slave and see what happens? :-)

You're right. I just haven't bought a multitracker yet and want to
find out in advance what I could/couldn't do with them (being able to
sync them or not). The tracker I'm considering at the moment can't be
a real-system slave (only MTC/MMC) so I need to know exactly what the
DTXpress can or can't do. First the manual says this then that. It's
pretty frustrating.

Can anyone give me a DXTpress/Yamaha tech support e-mail address
where I could ask about this?

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
