9/10 channels probs

9/10 channels probs

2003-10-02 by JAMES HUGHES

I have the dtxpress2 kit , and i have noticed that the 9/10 trigger
input does not separate the 2, i have a stereo splitter, going to 2
mono cables to my tc14 pintech series cymbals, yet when hit , both
trigger the channel 9 sound, and sometimes when i hit a bit harder ,
on either pad, they occasionally hit the 10 sound. what am i doin
wrong!!! driving me nutz... ive tried using all stereo cables as well
and get the same effect. also after about 2 weeks of using the
upright bass drum pad... it started wearing thin... i am a double
bass player, and to have that happen so quickly is not good , ...so i
fixed the prob by adding a peice of mouse pad to the beater surface,
i just laid the trigger down on the pad traced out the circle and
glued it on... voila! a very durable surface with very little change
in sound... and last but not least ... i am looking for a snare drum
setting ... simialr to the "crack" snare on the v-drum module. could
anyone help me with the settings or close to , if you know which
snare im talking about :) ty... happy drummin'.....

There are two differnet types of 'splitters' around. The first, which
is a true stereo splitter, will generally have a red plug and a black
black plug. One plug sends the signal being transmitted to the jack's
ring, the other sends a signal to the jack's tip. On trigger 9/10 the
tip will initiate the 9 trigger and the ring will activate the 10
trigger.

The other 'splitter' that's available is not a splitter at all. It's
simply a "Y" cable that will join signals from two sources into a
single trigger port. They are generally all black.

Are you using the correct 'splitter'? I sound like you may be using
a "Y" cable.

The "Y" cable that is needed is also referred to as an "Insert Cable".

What you need is the HOSA YPP- 117 adapter...here it is at Drumbalya http://shop.drumbalaya.com/s.nl/c.ACCT97787/sc.2/category.38/it.A/id.391/.f

If the link here doesn't work just go to http://www.drumbalaya.com and search for "Y adapters"
