Using internal sounds in tandem with ext. midi module

2004-01-11 by entropy7602

Hello all,

I just got my dtxpress II a few weeks ago and have run into a
problem. I am trying to use the internal dtxpress drum sounds in
tandem with samples triggered from my Kurzweil K2000. In voice edit
mode I have set the TOM3 trigger to midi channel 1, which is what my
K2000 is set to receive on. Striking TOM3 will trigger the sound on
the K2000, but it also triggers a piano sound from the dtxpress GM
voice list. if I set the voice select to "no assign" then no midi
event is generated at all. I know I can totally disable the internal
tone generator, but I still want to use the internal drum sounds. I
tried a few vague searches in the archive but didn't come up with
anything. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Have you done a factory reset on the module? There's a bug in the
DTXPU2 firmware when using MIDI which is only cured by a factory
reset (on the Utility menu).
