new set kp60 double pedals?

new set kp60 double pedals?

2004-01-21 by metalsharp

I searched through posts and was unable to find any info on this
subject. Can someone please tell me how I can set up double pedals on
a dtxpress. The pad is too narrow for two beaters and all the music
shops I've gone to have been no help. Is there an wider aftermarket
pad I can wire into the kp60 or something I can mount to the existing
pad? Thanks.Metalsharp

Somewhere on Yahoo, either here or in Yamaha_DTX I think, in the
Files section, there is a picture that might help. It shows
someone's work to modify a double beater so that the second beater
strikes directly *above* the first instead of side-by-side.

Ah - got it. Yamaha_DTX group, Files section (NOT photos), folder
called YYZ Pictures.

I've never come across any text on how he actually modified the
beater. You might get that by searching the archive in that group.

you won't be using doubles on the kp60 since its pad is way small. Some
people add a second kp60 which means that you would now have two of Yamaha's
worst products. You may wish to purchase the newer Yamaha, or if you're
interested I can share with you how I modified a Remo practice pad to mount
to the tower.

Can you email to me, or post it here, the details of how you modified
the Remo pad and mounted it to the KP60 tower?
