last stupid question for awhile...

last stupid question for awhile...

2004-01-25 by Jay

ok, i've been posting some really unhelpful questions to this group,
and i apologize. but this will be my last stupid question for awhile.
i'm thinking about putting some big round stickers on my triggers.
would that affect the sound? has anyone does this before? i can't
really see a reason WHY it would cause any problems, but i don't want
to do something totally retarded to my beloved dtx.

Jay,

What kind of stickers--kick drum pads, the Disney ones that my
daughter puts on me, etc.?

Don't apologize for asking questions. The only stupid question is
one you ask twice.

hmm. well, i'm talking vinyl stickers. like typical bumper stickers.
but round, and custom fit for the dtx triggers.

Jay,

If your intention is to place these bumper stickers on the rubber
pads, my guess is that they will change the stick noise to more of a
click and that they will require you to boost the gain setting and
minumum-velocity settings, at least. I suspect that they will also
start to break up before long.

. . . and, of course, change the feel and action.
