recording midi into the module

recording midi into the module

2004-02-20 by JAYMZ

Hi all! I was just looking at the dtxpress2 module book and saw that
you can
"TRANSMIT AND RECIEVE MIDI DATA"
"The dtxpress2 's sound generator can be driven by midi song data
(sequence data) transmitted fronm and external midi device. This
song data CAN BE RECORDED along with your performance on the
dtxpress2." Quoted on pg.25 of the manual.

Now does this mean the sequenced track from ...say your cakewalk
system, can be recorded into a song# (along with your performance or
not ) on your module,.... or like anything that makes a sound,
lol , can be recorded via (insert recording device here ).
I am confused... I was under the impression I could add songs to the
dtxpress2 module via midi.
*** I really wish I could delete the songs already on the Dtxpress2
mod, and replace them with the ones I will want. :) ***

Thanks for your time and help! Jaymz... jammin in Canada!

Hey Jaymz,

If I'm reading you right, yes, you can send MIDI data from Cakewalk,
with or without MIDI drum commands on it, to a track on the DTXpress
to which you can add drum accompaniment on another track of the
DTXpress sequencer. What you cannot do is record audio material from
any device into the DTXpress.

This is true but I would like to add a warning. I started playing
round with downloading midi files yesterday. The first track went down
fine. The second track stopped half way with a "Memory Full" error and
then proceded to do a factory reset - all user kits and song were
lost.

TY FOR THE HEADS UP.. :)

Would anyone know how much user storage space there is on the
dtxpressII ... in megs... or kbs etc.?

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
