Too many Pads, 1 Brain.

Too many Pads, 1 Brain.

2004-04-04 by Abdulmalek Hamsho

Hi all,

I have a lot of questions for you. I have 15 Pads/Drums (Mesh), and 1
DTXPress II:

1- How come I can't connect two pads into input 2, 6, or 7? Anybody explain
how 3-zone Pad works please?

2- If I want to connect those 15 Pads/Drums all together, what kind of
options do I have (Two deferent Brains, one Brain (Roland TD-10 for
example)? If I connected them to two deferent Brains, will I lose some
features in both Brains (Recording for example)? If I want to have a second
new DTXPress II Brain only, how would I buy this (I searched the market,
it's delivered with the complete DTXPress II set only)

Thanks.

Please go back through the archives for the many, many lengthy
discussions and descriptions of how "stereo" and "dual-zone" inputs
work. Bottom line: you can't do it, because Yamaha inputs are stereo
and not dual zone.

You can get a trigger-to-MIDI converter like the Roland TMC-6 or
(now obsolete) PM-16, or a second brain. Unless you connect the two
brains using MIDI, you would not be able to record a single song
using pads connected to two brains.
