Don't sure if i understand it correctly what you mean, but is it possible that you copied the directory (which contains your midi program) 1:1 from CD onto harddisk? In this case the destination will be write protected. =>Explorer, choose the folder which contains the program=>right-click=>properties, if "write protect" is enabled, disable it.
