Good list Keith. I can speak for two of these places. Talas was located for years about 2 blocks from my studio in Manhattan, moved to another nearby location, and finally - to Brooklyn, several years ago where I haven't visited the store, but still order from them. They are very knowledgable and often have items I can't find elsewhere. I also have very high regard for their business ethics. Gaylord is also very good, although my purchases from them so far have mostly been for archival negative envelopes and related items. They ship quickly -- you can choose the carrier, and my recollection is that the billing does not occur until the same day the package is shipped . I've also purchased from University Products in the past. Don't remember what I ordered, but would remember if there were problems with the company, and there were not.
