Thanks for the reply. Even knowing that people have not had this problem
helps to narrow it down to operator error.

I don't know if MIS has changed 1400 cart suppliers, but I've used several
sets of Eboni-6 and empties from MIS for the 1400 and not had a single
defect or problem. Well, a couple of the carts have been tight and hard to
pull out of the slots, but that's not a serious problem and has no impact on
print quality.

I did have ink flow through the printer with 2 positions -- Eboni K and HP K
in the C position -- when the 1400 was hauled into the Golden Trout Workshop
on a mule, with the ink loaded (an experiment I'll probably not repeat), but
I don't consider that normal usage.
