Terry, I switch between b/w inkset and color inkset on my 3800. It takes 3 full power cleans to fully flush out the previous inkset. A full power head clean consumes about 15m. total of ink. It will also fill up your maintenance tank pretty quick. I also normally run b/w but I occasionally need to do a color run of blank cd disks that utilizes the straight thru path. Don't see any other issues doing this other than the waste of ink.
