Re: [Digital BW] OT -- Cheap digital camera for kid

2002-03-25 by Steadman Uhlich

Interesting point there Jer.

When I think back on it....my first camera (that I remember) was a Kodak 110 camera....that despite my best attempts, never seemed to produce a decent photo....they never looked as good as my memory of the scenes.

Now when I see a 110 print...I know.

But....what if my parents had only given me that Hassy with 80mm lens back then?

Don't make the camera too cheap, or the kid will lose interest fast. Just like a cheap telescope. Can you imagine how many young careers in science and astronomy must have been waylaid because they could never get an acceptable image with it? Looking through a cheap telescope
would make me lose interest in astronomy fast.
