Have you tried this cleaning procedure?  Apparently there is a fair bit of
variability in the desktop printer heads.  I've been lucky that I've had 5
printers that worked well so far...but they haven't lasted for ever.  Its
possible that the intermittent nature of your problem might be humidity
related...you might want to get a gauge and track that.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
