I get microbanding on an 1160 that has only done about 100 prints. One day I see microbands, the next it prints fine. It is intermittent and I cannot find a solution other than try again another day, which isn't ideal. I hope the heads are not about to die as it is a relatively new printer. What epson would do is a 9:1 distilled water/clear household ammnoia flush with a tygon tube connected to the inkjet inlet. Put a couple of ml through each jet...with gentle syringe pressure. I just had two 1160's die this way in the last couple of weeks...these desktop machines are disposable printers...the flush didn't help...but perhaps they were already too far gone. Both printers had done several thousand prints. I've had this before but changing the dpi (thanks Nij) helped [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
