On the other hand. Our IP has been excellent (both on the 10000CF and the 3000). I have heard from other folks that the Mac version is rife with problems but the Win version performs flawlessly. The speed gain over the Epson driver is something to behold.200+ MB files begin printing in under 10 seconds. I think IP4 for the MAC is horrendous and shouldn't even be offered for sale. If you want to shell out the $s for the honor of being an unpaid beta tester then have at it! Just have a lot of time and paper at your disposal and hours of free long distance calling. I even bought a PC box to try the IP4/PC version and couldn't get it to print. The few prints that I was able to produce (MAC version) were awful. Pro24 has been working fine. Although it's not a dual color/BW RIP if you factor in the ink set, flushing carts and paper profiles it's cheaper and FAR more convenient than IP4. And most importantly - Pro24 WORKS. Although Colorbyte's tech support (Daniel - great guy!) is easy to work with it seems that the enthusiasm of CB's management precedes their ability to deliver as promised. And get clarification (i.e. read the fine print) regarding their 30 day MBG I know there are a few satisfied IP4/BW users out there - I've corresponded with most of them - but all I encountered was days of frustration during and after the purchase. I invested some serious time and $s but it didn't work for me. rm > > And I'll add my guess that we will all probably be using imageprint or > someone else's RIP to drive them to take advantage of the variable droplet I know that Image print is flavour of the month here and I'll probably get blasted for saying this, but the samples I've seen of this rip (from a 7000) had a horrible box-like dither that was easily spotted - regardless of DMax differences, the Piezo 7000 RIP gave a much smoother print.
