Jerry, I forgot to comment on the length of time it takes to run the alignment procedure. I'm accustomed to the procedure on my 3000 and didn't usually bother realigning for different papers/canvas. It didn't seem to be necesssary. Like you, I was amazed at how long it takes on the 1280. What concerns me is the apparent need to realign each time I change papers. This is going to be a pain and sure is likely to cut down on the number of papers I use--or even try.
