customer support polaroid

2002-08-12 by Jon Zax

In light of the recent tirades over the customer service, or lack there
of, and Nikon I wish to report
a recent experience that might sway people into the purchase of a
Polaroid scanner.

I have a SS4000 that has served me very well for several years and the
other day in the middle of a scanning session
it failed to recognize the film holder and when I restarted it ,would
not come out of initialization.

I called Polaroid tech support, they answered promptly and when I
explained what was happening,
the tech knew of the symptoms and took my address and said they had
designed a special little brush that would
fix the problem.

Three days later, the brush is delivered to me, free of charge, ( the
tech didn't even ask when I bought my scanner or anything)
I followed the very clear instructions and in less time than it's taking
me to type in the story, my scanner was up and running.

Not bad for a company that's in receivership.
