umm -- i've been using MIS VM cartridges for about 6 months -- with very
little problem

though i had the same scneario happen to me once --

i fixed it in 5 minutes by throwing new MIS VM cartridges into the 1280 --
even though the epson driver said there should still beink in them -- (i had
let them sit for about a week with no printing prior to the "cloggin" ) ..

have you tried brand new cartridges --?

in my case i was close ot being empty --

Subject: [Digital BW] Clogged Epson 1280

Hi All,

Well it\ufffds finally (after 3 weeks) happened to me! I turned on my
Epson 1280 (I'm using MIS VM inks in pre-filled cartridges) and ran a
quick nozzle check, which showed some banding with the black ink.
After doing a head cleaning, the next nozzle check was worse and now,
after 4-5 cleanings with some prints of the purge pattern imbetween,
I'm getting practically nothing!

I know everyone's written a lot about cleaning the print heads. I'm
a real novice "under the hood" of my printer and don't know exactly
how to go about it. Should I first just let the printer sit overnite?
I printed yesterday just fine, and the cartridges are about 1/2
full. I'd really appreciate some advice and a list of steps to
follow if I do need to clean the heads myself. (I'm not even sure
how one gets them in the correct position to clean!)

Thank you!

Bob
