RE: [Digital BW] Densitometer- For Paul, Austin, any others....

2002-09-01 by Paul Roark

Tom,

I use the X-Rite Color Digital Swatchbook, model DTP22. It gets the job
done. It is limited to 0.01 density "resolution," but that's fine with me.
(It limits the amount system and inkset variations drive me crazy.) I
talked to an X-Rite sales representative, and getting more
sensitivity/resolution gets really expensive.

I find I use the color measuring capabilities of the X-Rite a lot. I would
not limit yourself to just B&W density capabilities.

Paul

  Hi-

I've been making some "low ball" bids for a densiotmeter on
ebay...not enough to win (or if I do it will be a real bargain).

What x-rite models do you think are best knowing I will be using it
to just judge density on BW not really doing anything in color?

I'm also bidding on some much cheaper Macbeth ones...

  Any thoughts or advice appreciated.

  cheers,

  Tom O'Connell
