Re: [Digital BW] CFS ink retracted?

2002-09-02 by Sam A. McCandless

Just to be absolutely clear, Kevin, these are CFS carts, as your
subject line suggests, rather than CIS carts as mentioned below?
"CIS" has become almost generic due to the success of
NoMoreCarts.com's Continuous Ink Supply (CIS). But "CIS" is also
still the name of the NoMoreCarts (NMC) product. I have two of these
NMC CIS'es for the 1160 but don't remember retraction being mentioned
in the documentation. And in any case, didn't get any, despite being
"all thumbs", neither in the filling up stage nor after installing
the carts in my 1160s.

I'm not suggesting the CIS is better than the CFS, which I think Jim
Hayes prefers after much more experience than I've had. And I suspect
both the CIS and the CFS are better than the reverse-engineered,
no-manufacturer-named "knock off" cis'es I think are being sold by
retailers who don't have NoMoreCarts' permission to sell the real CIS.
