I did exactly what you're considering. I have a 2000P for color (I'm trying Generations 4 inks in it, BTW, because I'm not thrilled with the output on a non-glossy paper). I bought a 1280 which includes a $100 rebate until the end of the year. Got a set of MIS-VM inks and a CFS from missupply. I'm very happy with the results so far. Using curves and workflows supplied on the mis site, but will experiment on my own to better the output. I just swap the USB cable between the two printers as needed. I've thought about and seen a few things in B/W from the 2200, mainly from Epson reps. Looked nice, but have read mixed reviews. I think using the hextone inkset in a dedicated printer was the better way for me. So far...<g> Cheers, Jeffrey Fass --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@y..., "durnking" <durnking@a...> wrote: > I have a 2000P which serves my color printing needs but, as I'm sure > you all know, sucks big time for b&w.
