Using PS, a Mac, and the Epson driver, I can send a 16-bit file to print. I understand that somewhere in the path to print that file is being converted down to 8-bit. I *think* I remember Bruce Fraser saying that the OS (Mac at least (Quick Draw)) is the limiting factor in the chain, preventing the final print from actually being printed in 16-bits. I wonder if this update will just allow for what I'm already able to do with the Epson driver, or if it will allow true 16-bit printing. I've always wondered if the 16-bit benefit was being mitigated by it's ultimate conversion to 8-bit en route to print. I'd love to hear from anyone when they've tried this driver - does it make a difference? Todd
