MIS inks you don't need cleaning carts when switching. PT and what-Lyson inks maybe do, I'm not an expert. When switching from Epson to MIS or back the least ink waste occurs in just running out the old ink in the nozzle as it only takes at most a purge print to do this. Next most wastefull is when air gets trapped in the head during the switch, actually a common occurance, and you have to do some cleaning cycles and purge patterns to clear it. Next most wasteful is if you remove an MIS or other 3rd party cart before it is all used- re-installing it is tricky so you might as well throw it away. The Epson carts OTOH, seal when removed, so they are good for a few more insertions, removals. Jim H.
