Went with a "Panef brand white stick lubricant with silicone" for about $2.99. Went with the white _stick_ thinking I might be able to apply it more easily, Less spill possibility. I think the other kinds (graphite, etc.) are more of a powder?? and I was concerned that I would get it all over the innards of the printer. To get around that 'platen' bar I first wiped it with a kleenex (convenience only) then ran the white stick across it as well as I could. Smeared it around the bar with my fingers some, then pushed the print head back and forth a couple of times. Turned it back on and ran a test print...no squeak. Seems to have done the trick. Sincerely, Cleavis
