I missed the first of this post so excuse me if my suggestion is
inappropriate.

I use (as many do) dual monitors.  What this means is that my image is open
on the left monitor and all my toolboxes are open on the right monitor.  The
entire image and as many tool boxes as you may need can all be viewed at the
same time.

In my case (Win98se, ATX) I purchased an dual monitor card on eBay, acquired
another monitor, and was in business.  I would never go back to one monitor
and am considering three.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
