Steve, Not sure of the original question, but I just finished resolving some bizarro Quark problems when printing high-res tiffs (Mac OS 9.2 in my case, but many of these issues are cross-platform). First off, definitely upgrade to 4.11 (free on Quark's site). The other info I found was that rotating a photo file in Quark will cause low-res printing. Do any rotating in Photoshop, then import the rotated file into Quark. Finally, if the picture box color is set to "none" (which you would think would be logical), this can also cause freaky or low-res pic printouts. It must be set to "white". Go figure. Their FAQ is helpful, although answers can be spread over several sections, so be sure to read the entire index: http://www.quark.com/support/techinfo/ HTH, Doug > Date: Thu, 23 Jan 2003 04:10:58 -0000 > From: "Steven Karafyllakis <stevek@...>" <stevek@...> > Subject: Re: Prints turn to vertical lines > > --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "dsmithhfx > <dsmithhfx@y...>" <dsmithhfx@y...> wrote: >> --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "Steven >> Karafyllakis <stevek@e...>" <stevek@e...> wrote: >>> An update- I've never turned of the spooling before-it seems ti > fix >>> the problem, but Quark Xpress, out of which I'm printing this, >>> freezes until the print job is done.
