Based on what I've seen on the lists, I think that's right, Keith, 
especially if you have an older Mac with which the newest Apple 
monitors won't play as naturally or as nicely. But I expect my next 
desktop will be portable and that a larger LCD will be sitting behind 
it when it's not out running around with my next SLR, which I assume 
will be a digital. And all of that seems close enough that I'm 
reluctant to buy anything else in the meantime, despite the fact that 
my CRT is starting to get tired.

Would you rather have it for that or Apple's new 20" LCD for its 
$1299 list price? Does that choice depend on whether the screen of 
your portable to be will be big enough for all of your Photoshop 
palettes? I'm very eager to see how exactly Apple updates the 15" 
TiBook.
