Mark,

Well it might be better for USA folks but if you have a standard modem 
connection in Europe (and a lot of other places) you pay your online 
phone time by the minute - no free local calls - which makes reading 
lists in webview rather expensive. That's why I always opted for the 
digest form. I now have ADSL so that's no longer an issue but I like to 
read at my convenience and perhaps go back and save some tip or other. 
Easier to do if you have it already on your hd.

Responding to one person isn't that difficult though not a one click 
deal. You just make a new message and copy/paste in the address of the 
receipient instead of just clicking Reply button. Even using Reply to 
post to the group you still gotta copy/paste the thread subject.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
