Digital BW, The Print

David Schecter adapted the Randall curve for the 740 last October (see msg 21196) 
-- it's posted under Files > Ink Sets > MIS > MIS FS (at least it was there when I last 
looked). This version, which uses "Photo Quality Glossy Film" as the media option, 
provides prints with a tonal character that's essentially the same as what the 1160 
produces -- the only real difference I've seen between prints from these two printers is 
that the ones from the 740 don't have the 1160's fine higher-tone smoothness (probably 
because of the 740's larger dots)-- but I found that this was only  occasionally an issue.  
"Photo Quality Glossy Ink" lays down a little less ink than "Photo Quality Ink Jet".

  replicate is the selection of "Matt Paper - Heavyweight" - it is 
  simply not an option in my printer driver (XP). I choose "Photo 
  Quality Ink Jet Paper". Is this limiting my results? If so how do I 
  change my driver to get this paper option?
