I don't think that is 'typical clog' behavior.  I had exactly the same  
thing with a 1200 I used for ages.  It went on like that for about nine  
months.  Nothing I did made any long term difference --  I just learned  
to live with the fact that I could make two or three print and then  
would have to wait for a few hours.

It had made thousands of prints so in the end I stuck the OEM inks back  
in it and won a thousand good behavior points by giving it to my  
daughter.   Obviously that won't work for everyone.
