>>Doug, If I pulled, say 40 CCs of ink or so through the bottom of the CIS cartridges to get them filled with ink, would that work?<< Sorry to hear your still having problems. The short answer to your question is that I don't know. At this point, it couldn't hurt. Didn't I read that you just got these carts today? If so and they aren't working, pull the ink through them, then insert them in the printer and let them sit until tomorrow afternoon before ever even using them. That would be my suggestion. >>If you fill the cartridges this way, there probably won't be a true vacuum in there, but the carts will certainly be saturated with ink. Would you HAVE to have a vacuum?<< It has worked for me. "Priming" may be a better term than vacuum. My theory was to get a bunch of ink in the cart so that when the print head tries to charge with the new ink, there is plenty of ink in there to "prime the pump." If there isn't enough ink to fully saturate the sponge, I would think it would be hard to "prime" things. I am sure there are people on this list who know the technical aspects better than I do, so I will let them jump in and set us straight. Doug
