Digital BW, The Print

I guess this would be filed under "minority report" here, but I use 
Lyson Quad Black Neutral inks exclusively, with a dedicated 
Epson 1160, and I've been quite satisfied with the results 
(mostly with EAM/EEM, but currently experimenting with other 
papers as time and resources allow). *I* fine the results neutral, 
although I'd bet if five of us from this list got together with our five 
most "neutral toned" prints, there would be differences. 

What has equally concerned me are issues of ink-printer 
compatibility and *relative* longevity; on the first issue, the Lyson 
quads have played nice with my 1160, with only one incident 
surrounding a cart the ran out prematurely (and had me thinking 
I had a major-league head clog). On the second issue, my 
landlady has a print I gave her a year ago, which she took the 
trouble to have expensively mounted and framed, and has been 
hanging in the foyer of the two-family house I live in for about a 
year, exposing the print not just to daylight, but to changes in 
temperature and humidity as well.  I have a "control" print in 
storage which I take out periodically to compare to the foyer print; 
so far, so good.

So, I like the look, the workflow (basically my own curves, but I'm 
very interested in how Paul's curves, among others, might work 
for me), and the reaction from others I've made prints for. I keep 
my ears open about other inks, but if I tried something new, I'd 
need another 1160 to test it on, as I rely on the 1160 for all my 
b/w work right now.
