I'm not getting good results on glossy papers either, but I assumed that's
because I'm using them in a 2100 printer, which isn't really meant to be
used with these inks at all. The seventh ink, the light black, is causing
problems I think. I get mottling in the shadow areas and find myself
unable to get neutral or cool shadows. I've tried mixing a cooler black
ink, like Paul suggested in another post, but I haven't been able to
perfect the mix yet.
I'm not sure I've seen solarization though. I've tried Ilford Smooth
Pearl, Epson Premium Semigloss and Epson Premium Glossy. With so many
other problems, it's hard to tell...
On matte papers I get beautiful prints and have no problems even in the
shadow areas.
