I put a new head in my 1200; ordered it from National Parts Depot (about $80), put it in, then realized that I couldn't align it because I didn't have the alignment software, which I couldn't find anywhere (except for some Russian guy who wanted to sell me a copy of dubious provenance). So I took the printer to an Epson repair facility, they couldn't get it to work right either, ordered another & installed it, and it still had very minor banding. So I sold it. So: it's not hard to replace the head, but difficult to get it to work right. I wish I'd taken it to the Epson place to begin with. Harry Saddler | hsaddler@...
