I am on digest mode, perhaps someone else has already answered it, but the pink stripes are an anti-halation backing on Kodak b&w film. Run it through hypo clear and it comes right off, then wash it again. If you don't want to hassle with hypo clear in in the future, use Ilford B&W film (the kind that you develop yourself, rather than the C41 process) Don't know about the weak image, but shoot a roll of slide film, preferably the same film speed as what you would pick for your B&W. have the lab process it and then you will know right away if it is your exposure or development that needs attention. Best of luck Tom Robinson > Subject: Re: help with developing problem NEW PROBLEM > > hi > > i too am having problems with developing my first roll of 120 film > > i am not sure if it is because my chemistry is old, or the fact that the film > came off the roller while it was in the tank :) > > either way, all i got was a strip of film, with "psychedelic purple" streaks > all over it, with little image showing beneath > > any idea what went wrong? > > thank you > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > >
