film, ever, in my whole life, and had in fact gone wholly over to
digital. But there are people in the area who repair/collect old
cameras and who would do my developing for me if the camera does
indeed work. I do want to learn how to use this old lady. But
Kip's enthusiastic instructions on film trimming have
consternated me a little bit!

Maybe it will be much more convenient to take a Polaroid holder
that can use the instant 665 B&W positive/negative film 3.25x4.25
size or the 4x5 holder for a similar film. No darkroom, no
filmsize issue. Enough of them available secondhand. I'm using
the 665 on a converted Polaroid 110A. Slow and not much latitude
but very little grain.
